The Dave Short Masters Invitation Interprovincial Squash Tournament on 6th to 8th June, hosted by Midlands Squash Union.
DAVE SHORT MASTERS INVITATION INTERPROVINCIAL SQUASH TOURNAMENT – 6th – 8th JUNE 2014 The annual DAVE SHORT Tournament will be held in Pietermaritzburg over the weekend of the 6th- 8th June 2014. WE HAVE A CHANGE IN VENUE - ALL FUNCTIONS WILL BE AT COLLEGIANS CLUB. The tournament format will remain the same as in previous years with each player enjoying 3 singles matches. The tournament Convener is Cathy Jackson. Please note that entries are restricted to the first 250 players on a first come first serve basis.
FORMAT FOR THE TOURNAMENT
Friday evening: 19h00 to 19h30 – Registration at Collegians Club Foyer
19h30 sharp - Captains Meeting at the squash Court office upstairs at Collegians Club.
20h00 – Supper and music main hall Collegians Club.
Squash: Squash will be played on Saturday morning, afternoon and Sunday morning commencing at 08h30 at various venues.
Saturday evening: Theme Evening “Luminous and Denim”. Dinner and music in the main Lounge Collegians Club.
Sunday Lunch: Braai around the Pool (weather permitting) or in main Lounge Collegians Club
TOURNAMENT COST The entry fee is R400-00 per player which includes participation in all the functions, 3 games of squash and a squash shirt.
GUESTS For catering purposes please could you also indicate on the enclosed form should you be bringing any guests to any of the functions?
The cost of meals is as follows: Friday night supper (FS): R80-00 Saturday Dinner (SD): R150-00 Sunday Braai (SB): R100-00 Please kindly pay this amount when paying your team entry fee and indicate what functions you are paying for and the name of your partner who is attending.
SHIRT/TOP SIZES Please indicate on the entry form the shirt/top sizes next to your name.
Sizes: Men - S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL
Women - WS, WM, WL, WXL, WXXL
Should you require any additional shirts please also indicate this on the attached entry form. The cost for extra shirts is R140-00 each.
TEAMS Please enter teams in order of strength on the attached entry form. Five players per team and please indicate the team captain. Please include all players’ cell phone numbers. Should you require any additional teams please advise us accordingly and we will endeavour to accommodate them? Below are the team allocation/results from 2013. Please indicate which section you would like to play in. We will use last year’s results as a guideline to ascertaining into what section teams are to be placed. We will advise provinces as to the allocation in due course.
