Explore the famous Route 62, South Africa’s scenic route that meanders from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn, a shorter scenic alternative to the N2 highway.

On Route 62, South Africa, you will discover one of the most diverse regions in Africa, the Karoo; a land of never-ending horizons that merge effortlessly with majestic mountain ranges and dramatic valleys.   • KKNK ABSA Festival April

    The Absa KKnK will take place over the 3rd to the 11th of April 2015!!

    The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) has been running for an impressive 12 consecutive years, and is held in the charming town of Oudtshoorn on Route 62. The festival is primarily Afrikaans but there are numerous English performances as well.  The KKNK includes great performances including children’s theatre, street theatre, musical performances, comedy, art work and crafts, not to mention some delicious food stalls!

    This is a great festival for the whole family!

  • Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival June

    The ABSA Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival will be held from the 13th to the 14th of June 2015!

    Some great events have been planned for the annual Port and Wine Festival which will be presented on the Friday evening, with the full traditional Festival programme on both Saturday and Sunday.

    Of course all of the local port and wines will be available for tasting as well as a gourmet Street Market for some delicious food and light meals. There will also be several music events including David Fourie, Andriette Norman and Michael Lindt.

  • Bonnievale Bonanza October

    The Bonnievale Bonanza is Bonnievale’s trademark event that draws locals, tourists, community organisations and visitors from all over the Western Cape on an annual basis, in October.

    Bonnievale Bonanza is a sport-based and adventure event with plenty cultural components designed to appeal to the entire family. Situated in the countryside next to the ever flowing Breede River, the events makes visitors want to linger longer.

    Since its initiation in 1994, the Bonanza has grown in visitor numbers. The 2013 Festival attracted over 5 000 visitors and 60 exhibitors. The Bonanza programme includes music, dance, agricultural fun, exhibition of arts and crafts of local school projects, old veteran motors, ‘potjiekos’ competitions, local products and food and drink vendors.

    The Bonanza is just about the best fun you can have while also contributing to a good cause. All proceeds are for Bonnievale High School.


    National Horse Championships are held and the highlights of the show are the wildflower exhibition, where flowers are displayed in their natural state. Various exhibitions, art and craft stalls, food stalls and a wine and beer garden. Entertainment for the whole family.
